1. Information We Do Not Collect
Unlike many browser extensions, LinkExtractor does not track:
- The URLs or domains of XML sitemaps you inspect
- The contents or extracted links of any audited sitemaps
- Your browsing history or active tabs outside the inspected sitemap
- Your IP address, location, or device hardware identifiers
- Any personal identity data or keystrokes
2. Chrome Extension Permissions
LinkExtractor uses the latest Google Chrome Manifest V3 architecture and requests only the minimal necessary permissions:
- activeTab: Allows the extension to interact with the currently focused tab only when you click the extension icon or open an XML sitemap.
- scripting: Allows the extension to execute the in-page parser script to count XML nodes without sending data over a network.
3. Website Analytics (linkextractor.app)
On this marketing website (https://linkextractor.app), we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) with IP anonymization enabled. This is used solely to monitor aggregate visitor counts and clicks to the Chrome Web Store. No personal identifying information is stored.
4. Third-Party Services
LinkExtractor extension communicates with zero third-party APIs, servers, or advertising networks. When you click to install the extension, you are directed to the official Google Chrome Web Store, which is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
5. Local Storage
The extension may utilize your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) strictly to save your UI preferences (such as showing/hiding the floating HUD badge). This data never leaves your device.
6. Contact Information
If you have questions regarding this Privacy Policy, you may contact our engineering team via email at privacy@linkextractor.app.
