buildCommon Resolution Steps
Ensure you are viewing an XML page
LinkExtractor activates specifically when you view an XML document (like .xml or .xml.gz) or pages declaring an XML Content-Type header.
Check Chrome extension permissions
Verify that LinkExtractor is enabled in chrome://extensions. Ensure 'Site access' is set to 'On click' or 'On all sites' so the activeTab API can execute.
Reload the XML sitemap page
If you just installed the extension, refresh any previously opened sitemap tabs so the content script and HUD counter can attach to the document.
Enable 'Allow access to file URLs' (Local Sitemaps)
If you are testing local sitemaps saved on your computer (file:// URLs), enable 'Allow access to file URLs' in the Chrome Extension details page.
